Our Beliefs and Core Values
We believe that we are all the same under the skin. Every person matters and everyone deserves to be treated with fairness, dignity and respect. We support people of all ages, backgrounds, identities, and beliefs. This includes people of different faiths and philosophies, as well as those who do not follow a religion. We celebrate the uniqueness of each individual while recognising the values that unite us as human beings. Our values are aligned with the Amsterdam Declaration, which affirms the right of every human being to live freely, as long as that freedom respects the rights of others. We firmly believe that kindness, empathy and compassion sit at the heart of ethical living. We do not believe that people need fear, judgement, or the promise of reward to live good and meaningful lives. Instead, we believe that care for one another, understanding, and shared responsibility help us to live well together. Love, respect and do no harm are at the foremost of all that we do.
Spirituality and Religion
Aberdeen Celebrant – The Collective is an interfaith and inclusive organisation. We understand that spirituality, meaning and purpose look different for everyone. For some, belief is rooted in faith or religious tradition. For others, it is found in human connection, nature, creativity, memory, or personal values. We offer a safe and respectful space to explore these ideas in whatever way feels right for you. We are not bound by tradition or doctrine. Our ceremonies are shaped around the people we serve, reflecting what matters most to them.

Equality is central to who we are. We believe everyone has the right to be treated fairly and without discrimination, regardless of age, gender, race, disability, sexuality, belief, or background. We are united in our care for humankind and in our commitment to kindness without condition and inclusion without exception.
Our Work
Aberdeen Celebrant exists to help people mark life’s moments in ways that feel authentic, personal, and meaningful through inclusive and personalised ceremonies. Our work is about bringing people together to celebrate love and life. We approach every ceremony and interaction with warmth, openness and respect. We are here for life’s most important moments, those of joy and celebration, times of change, as well as times of grief and loss. By centring human values and fore fronting compassion in all that we do, we hope to contribute to a kinder, more understanding community - one ceremony, one conversation, and one connection at a time.
